Laborschule Bielefeld is a state-run experimental school in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was founded in 1974, together with the neighbouring Oberstufen-Kolleg, a tertiary college. The school operates according to the ideas of its original director, the educator Hartmut von Hentig.
Laborschule has the task of developing new forms of teaching, learning and integration in schools and making these results available to the public. Hence its work is both practical and theoretical.

In a shared commitment with Eastern Kentucky University, Model Laboratory School will serve as a learning laboratory for K-12 education in the Commonwealth of Kentucky by providing an exemplar for research, best practices, and innovation in elementary and secondary education and teacher professional learning.

The Child Development & Student Research Center was established in 1975 as a laboratory preschool for the undergraduates in the Psychology Department at Rollins College. We serve children between the ages of two and five years.

As a laboratory school attached to the university's College of Education and Human Services, Luhrs provides a setting for university students from many majors to observe and participate in elementary school activities.

The Normal School, which is part of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology of the University of Jyväskylä, is responsible for organizing basic education, upper secondary education and supervised teaching practice as part of teacher training. The teacher training school ensures the quality of curriculum work and teaching, develops diverse supervised teaching practice and the pedagogical use of educational technology. The Normal School carries out experimental, development and research cooperation with the university's various faculties and departments and is constantly available as a research field for university students' theses. The teacher training college has approximately 100 staff, over 1,000 students, and approximately 800 teaching interns annually.

The University Laboratory School (ULS) began in 1896 as the Territorial Normal & Training School located on the University of Hawai‘i Mānoa campus and eventually evolved into a K-12 laboratory school in 1966. ULS has a primary partnership with UH Mānoa’s College of Education in addition to many other educational partners located throughout the U.S. and Asia.

As the only K-12 laboratory school in Hawai‘i, ULS is able to focus on using innovative, creative and thoughtful approaches to educating students in addition to serving as a seedbed for education research, curriculum development and dissemination of educational best practices. ULS prepares its students to be ready for college, work and responsible citizenship, through a program emphasizing disciplines of knowledge and habits of mind, as indicated by demonstrating skills development in the areas of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. 

Slobodná škola or The Free Democratic School is an elementary school with nearly 800 pupils in grades 1-9, of which over 700 pupils are so-called "homeschoolers". Without constant management and supply of stimuli, we provide a space for a proven model of free/self-directed learning and free play, confirmed by the century-long experience of Summerhill School in England, as well as the latest findings in pedagogy, psychology and neurology. As a Collaborative Learning School, Maxfield Elementary will partner with St. Thomas to prepare teachers, develop and apply best practices for teaching and learning, and provide professional development opportunities to create incredible student-centered learning environments starting in the 2023-24 school year. The Lab School provides preschool education for children who are three and four years old. A large portion of the day is spent in free play and exploratory learning. The Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP) is a multi-site laboratory school program at the University of California, Berkeley.  The history of the ECEP dates back almost 100 years. In 1927, Berkeley founded the Institute of Child Welfare, to provide a quality nursery school for children while providing scholars access to a young population for observation and research. In 1960, the nursery school was renamed the Harold E. Jones Child Study Center. The oldest of the ECEP centers, Harold E. Jones remains the longest continuously running child study center in the United States. Since their inception in 1927, ECEP has expanded to five locations and currently serves more than 250 children – infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
